Training Programs
Interested in being part of the construction industry? Want to become a concrete construction worker, site foreman or commercial driver? Our paid training programs allow you to earn while you learn the skills to become a cement mason, construction site foreman or concrete and dump truck driver. These careers offer excellent benefits and the opportunity to be home each night. Paid training provides new and current employees with hands-on training that leads to certifications and licenses.

Internship Program
Site Foreman Intern
Starting wage is $19/hour
7 weeks, Monday-Friday
Site Foreman Interns receive classroom, on-site and hands-on training focused on safety, quality control, site setup and concrete finishing. The 7-week program progresses through four units to achieve key milestones as you learn to become an effective site foreman.

Apprenticeship Program
Cement Mason Apprentice
Starting wage is $19/hour
3 years, Monday-Saturday
Receive training and experience to earn your concrete finishing credentials from the Department of Labor. Over three years, complete extensive classroom and on-the-job training with Metro Pavers to ensure safety, quality and proper concrete formwork, flatwork and finishing techniques.

Truck Driver Training
CDL for Dump Truck and Concrete Mixer Truck Driver
Upon program completion $24/hour with annual raises after that
Learn to drive dump trucks and concrete mixer trucks at Kirkwood Community College and on the job at Metro Group. We pay the tuition for the 2-week course through Kirkwood and a training wage while in class and cover the cost of your qualifying pre-employment drug testing and required Iowa Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL) physical.
