As a driver at Metro Ready Mix, you will be required to adhere to all DOT, OSHA, and Metro Ready Mix
regulations and operating procedures. Complying with safety standards is imperative.
Our drivers perform daily pre and post trip truck inspections, as required by the DOT, they ensure loads are within regulated weight limits at all times, load/unload materials at the quarry, plant, or job site, ensure delivery tickets are accurate, deliver concrete, communicate timely and effectively with Area Manager, Dispatcher, Project Manager as well as all coworkers. Keeping their vehicle clean is also expected.
To be considered for a position as a CDL Driver at Metro Ready Mix applicants
Must hold and maintain a Class A or Class B DOT Certified Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with airbrakes and no automatic restriction.
- Must not be prohibited to drive a commercial vehicle per FMCSA.
- Must pass a pre-employment DOT physical – obtaining and maintaining the DOT required Medical Card.
- Must pass a DOT drug screen.
Per DOT regulations all drivers will participate in and pass random drug and alcohol screenings. Candidates must also pass a background check. Driving both a dump truck and concrete mixer are required for both Class A and Class B drivers. Class A drivers will also haul powder in tankers (if endorsed), as well as move heavy equipment. Being able to work in all weather conditions, working extended hours, lifting up to 50 lbs., are also required.
